XRP perpetual futures traded $2.73B in the last 24 hours across 27 tracked markets, with $2.83B in open interest. Binance is the most active venue with 29% of volume. Created for fast, low-cost settlement, XRP is the native asset of the XRP Ledger and is closely associated with Ripple, the payments company that holds a large share of supply. Perps give traders leverage on its sharp, news-led moves and a simple way to go short. Long-term holders also use them to hedge coins without selling, and a large retail following keeps XRP among the most traded altcoin perps.
Legal and regulatory news has driven some of XRP's biggest moves, and ETF developments, Ripple announcements and monthly escrow releases all draw attention. Perp volume is spread across Binance, MEXC, Bybit and OKX. Negative funding during a rally shows shorts are paying to hold their bets, which can fuel a squeeze if price keeps rising. XRP perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of XRP and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any XRP.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When XRP perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
