Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
Formerly known as Elrond, MultiversX is a layer 1 blockchain that splits its network into shards to process transactions in parallel. EGLD pays fees, is staked to secure the chain through proof of stake, and is used in governance. Perps give traders a way to short or lever a mid-cap layer 1 without moving tokens out of staking, and let delegators hedge their price exposure.
Binance leads EGLD perps volume, with Bybit next, and the rest of the market spreads across BingX, WhiteBIT, Bitget and MEXC. No single venue dominates, but each order book is thin, so funding rates can diverge between exchanges during fast moves. Ecosystem launches, changes to staking rewards and the broader layer 1 trade are the usual catalysts for this market.

MultiversX is a proof-of-stake layer 1 blockchain that uses adaptive state sharding to split network load across several shards. It launched as Elrond and rebranded to MultiversX in 2022, keeping EGLD as its native token. EGLD pays for transactions and is staked by validators and delegators.

Adaptive state sharding divides a blockchain's transactions, data and validators across multiple shards that run in parallel, and adjusts the number of shards as demand changes. MultiversX uses it to raise throughput without asking every validator to process every transaction.
The project rebranded in 2022 to reflect a wider focus on internet-scale and metaverse-style applications beyond the base chain. The network, the EGLD ticker and staking stayed the same, so EGLD price history continues across the name change.

Yes. EGLD can be delegated to a staking provider to earn rewards, and a short perp of similar size offsets the price risk on those tokens. The combined return depends on the staking yield against the funding paid or received on the short, and staked EGLD takes several days to unbond.
EGLD perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of EGLD and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any EGLD.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When EGLD perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
