Arweave is a decentralised storage network designed to keep data permanently in exchange for a single upfront fee. Files are stored in a structure called the blockweave, and AR pays for storage and rewards the miners who keep copies. Perps on AR let traders take leveraged views on the decentralised storage and compute theme, hedge ecosystem holdings, or short the token without borrowing it.
Ecosystem news is a key catalyst, especially around AO, the compute layer built on top of Arweave. With a fixed maximum supply and a mid-cap market, AR can move fast when sentiment turns. Binance carries most of the perp volume, while MEXC and Bitget hold sizeable open interest relative to their trading. Use the funding rates page to see whether leveraged demand is running ahead of spot.

Arweave is a blockchain-based network for permanent data storage. Users pay once in AR, and the fee goes into an endowment designed to cover storage costs over the long term as hardware gets cheaper. Websites, NFT media and archives stored on Arweave form what the project calls the permaweb.

AO is a decentralised computing system built on Arweave that runs many processes in parallel and stores their messages permanently on the network. It extends Arweave from storage into general computation. AO news has been a major driver of interest in AR because it widens what the network can be used for.
Arweave sells permanent storage for a one-off payment, while Filecoin runs a marketplace where users pay storage providers under deals that last a set period. Both target decentralised storage with different economics, and traders often treat AR and FIL as related bets on the same sector.

Yes, AR has a capped maximum supply of 66 million tokens, most of which are already in circulation. New tokens reach miners on a declining schedule, so dilution pressure is lower than for many newer tokens with large unlock calendars.
AR perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of AR and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any AR.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When AR perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
