Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
Pyth Network is an oracle that publishes real-time price data for crypto, stocks, currencies and commodities to blockchains. Exchanges, market makers and trading firms supply the data directly, and applications pull updates when they need them. PYTH is the governance token. Perps let traders bet on oracle adoption with leverage, or hedge exposure to the token's large unlock schedule.
Scheduled token unlocks are a major driver here, since much of the supply was locked at launch and is released in large tranches. Binance dominates volume by a wide margin, with Bybit and OKX behind it, and Gate holds open interest that is large relative to its trading. New chain integrations and data products can spark rallies. Funding that turns negative ahead of an unlock can signal traders hedging the new supply, a pattern visible on the funding rates page.

Pyth Network is a decentralised oracle that delivers price feeds for crypto, equities, foreign exchange and commodities to smart contracts. Data comes first-hand from exchanges and trading firms, and Pyth aggregates it into a single price with a confidence interval.

PYTH is used for governance of the Pyth Network, including votes on fees, rewards and which price feeds are listed. Holders can also stake it in Oracle Integrity Staking, which rewards data publishers for accurate prices and penalises poor data.
Large PYTH unlocks add supply to the market on set dates, which can weigh on price if recipients sell. Traders often watch funding and open interest in the weeks before an unlock, because short positioning and hedging tend to build ahead of the release.

Pyth mainly uses a pull model, where applications request the latest price when they need it, while Chainlink's classic feeds push updates on chain at set intervals or price moves. Pyth's data comes directly from trading firms and exchanges. Both serve DeFi, and traders often compare them through LINK perps.
PYTH perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of PYTH and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any PYTH.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When PYTH perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
