Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
Built for fast trading and finance applications, Sei is a layer 1 blockchain with quick finality and an EVM that processes transactions in parallel. SEI pays for gas, secures the network through staking and is used in governance. Traders use SEI perps for leveraged exposure to the high-performance chain theme, to short it against rival chains, or to hedge staked positions.
Liquidity is spread more evenly than for many mid-caps. Binance leads on volume, with Bybit and MEXC close behind, and open interest is split across several venues instead of one dominant book. Ecosystem activity, token unlocks and EVM app launches move SEI, and it tends to trade as a high-beta altcoin in broad market swings. Watch the long/short ratio for crowding before big moves.

Sei is a proof-of-stake blockchain focused on trading, exchanges and other finance apps that need fast confirmation. It started with Cosmos SDK roots and later added full EVM compatibility, so Ethereum developers can deploy apps with familiar tools. SEI is its native token.

Sei processes transactions that do not touch the same state at the same time instead of one after another, which raises throughput compared with a standard EVM chain. The design keeps compatibility with Ethereum smart contracts, letting developers bring existing code while benefiting from faster execution.
Sei competes with chains such as Solana, Sui and Aptos for trading and DeFi activity. Its pitch is EVM compatibility combined with parallel execution, so traders often compare SEI against those rivals and use perps to express relative views.

App usage on the chain, stablecoin and DeFi deposits, and developer activity on its EVM are the main fundamental drivers. Scheduled releases of team and investor tokens add supply, and SEI also moves with the wider altcoin market, often more sharply than larger caps.
SEI perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of SEI and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any SEI.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When SEI perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
