Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
Shiba Inu began in 2020 as a dog-themed Ethereum memecoin pitched as a rival to Dogecoin, and grew into one of the largest memecoins, with its own DEX, a layer 2 network called Shibarium and a large retail following. SHIB has a supply in the hundreds of trillions, so a single token is worth a tiny fraction of a cent. Perps let traders take leveraged memecoin exposure or short a rally without selling spot.
Because of that tiny unit price, some exchanges list SHIB perps as 1000SHIB, where one contract unit represents 1,000 tokens, so check the contract specification before sizing a trade. Among venues quoting plain SHIB, OKX leads volume with MEXC and Bitget behind. Burn campaigns, Shibarium news and wider memecoin risk appetite all move funding, and SHIB often trades in sympathy with Dogecoin perps.

Shiba Inu is a dog-themed memecoin launched on Ethereum in 2020 by an anonymous founder known as Ryoshi. It grew a wider ecosystem including the ShibaSwap DEX, the BONE and LEASH tokens and Shibarium, a layer 2 network. SHIB remains the main token traded on exchanges.

1000SHIB is a contract format where one unit represents 1,000 SHIB tokens. Exchanges use it because a single SHIB is worth so little that prices would otherwise need many decimal places. Profit and loss per dollar of exposure are the same, but quantities and quoted prices differ, so compare like with like across venues.
Burns send SHIB to unusable addresses and reduce supply, and the community tracks the burn rate closely. With a supply in the hundreds of trillions, even large burns remove only a small share of tokens. Burn headlines therefore tend to move sentiment more than they change the supply picture.

Shibarium is a layer 2 network for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, built to lower fees and support apps and games. BONE is used for gas on Shibarium, and part of network fees has been directed to burning SHIB. Upgrades, outages or security incidents on Shibarium can move SHIB sentiment.
SHIB perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of SHIB and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any SHIB.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When SHIB perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
