Movement is a blockchain project built around the Move programming language, first developed for Meta's Diem project and now used by networks such as Aptos and Sui. It aims to bring Move's safety features to an Ethereum-connected environment, with MOVE as its native token. Perps let traders take leveraged positions on the Move ecosystem story, or short a young token that still has scheduled unlocks.
Supply events and sentiment set the tone. Scheduled unlocks for investors and contributors can lift short interest ahead of time, and past controversy around the project's market-making arrangements still colours how traders view MOVE. BingX handles a large share of perp volume, with Binance second, and liquidity thins quickly beyond them. Funding can drift far from zero in this kind of market, so check funding rates before holding positions for days.

Movement is a network that uses the Move language and Move virtual machine for smart contracts, with a focus on linking Move-based apps to Ethereum users and liquidity. MOVE is the native token of its ecosystem. It sits in the same broad Move family as Aptos and Sui.

Move is a smart contract language created at Meta for the Diem project. It treats digital assets as resources that cannot be copied or accidentally lost, which aims to prevent common bugs found in other contract languages. Aptos, Sui and Movement all build on versions of it.
SUI and APT are tokens of standalone layer 1 networks that use Move, while Movement focuses on bringing Move to the Ethereum ecosystem. All three draw on the same developer language, so news about Move adoption can move them together. Compare with SUI perps.

MOVE funding swings because its perps market is small and dominated by short-term traders. When one side crowds in, there is little opposing liquidity, so the perp price drifts from spot and funding adjusts sharply. Unlock dates and project news often trigger these imbalances.
MOVE perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of MOVE and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any MOVE.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When MOVE perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
