Bitcoin Cash perpetual futures traded $392.93M in the last 24 hours across 20 tracked markets, with $321.87M in open interest. Binance is the most active venue with 35% of volume. Funding is close to flat at +0.0018% per 8 hours, so neither side is paying much to hold. Accounts are split 47.4% long to 52.6% short.
Bitcoin Cash split from Bitcoin in 2017 after a dispute over block size, keeping proof-of-work mining and a 21 million coin cap but allowing much larger blocks for cheaper payments. It is one of the oldest large-cap coins with deep derivatives markets. Traders use BCH perps for leveraged moves, for shorting, and for pair trades against BTC, since the two share mining hardware and halving cycles.
This market often trades as a high-beta follower of BTC, then breaks away during bursts of speculative interest. Halvings, which cut miner rewards roughly every four years, and hashrate shifts between the two chains add BCH-specific moves. Binance carries most of the volume, with OKX and Bybit next, and Binance offers both USDT and USDC margined pairs. Checking BTC perps alongside shows when BCH is leading or lagging.

The open-interest-weighted BCH funding rate is +0.0018% per 8 hours, or +1.98% annualised. Positive funding means longs pay shorts. Across exchanges it ranges from -0.0114% on WhiteBIT to +0.0267% on Kraken. Compare all funding rates.
BCH perpetual open interest is $321.87M (1.13M BCH), down 2.75% in 24 hours. Binance holds the most at $93.54M. That is 5.59% of Bitcoin Cash's market cap.
Bitcoin Cash is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency created by a hard fork of Bitcoin in August 2017. Supporters wanted bigger blocks so more transactions fit on chain at lower fees. It keeps Bitcoin's 21 million supply cap and SHA-256 mining.
Bitcoin Cash perps traded $392.93M in the last 24 hours, +22.65% on the day before. Binance leads with 35%, followed by OKX ($69.39M) and Bybit ($22.89M).
Over the last 24 hours 47.4% of accounts are long and 52.6% short, a long/short ratio of 0.90. See the long/short ratio by exchange.
The main difference is block size. Bitcoin Cash allows far larger blocks and focuses on cheap payments, while Bitcoin kept small blocks and added layers such as Lightning. BTC has much greater market value, liquidity and institutional adoption, which is why BCH usually follows its direction.
Yes, it can. Each halving cuts the block reward miners earn, which reduces new supply, and traders often position in perps ahead of the event. Because miners can switch hashpower between BCH and BTC, reward changes on either chain can also shift BCH mining economics.
$832.1K of BCH positions were liquidated in 24 hours, $374.8K longs and $457.3K shorts. Binance saw the most at $385.7K. See liquidations across the market.
BCH has a smaller market and thinner order books than BTC, so concentrated buying can move it sharply on its own. Short squeezes in the perp market can amplify these moves when positioning has leaned short. Watching open interest alongside price shows whether a move is driven by new positions or by shorts closing.
BCH perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of BCH and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any BCH.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When BCH perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.
BCH perps trade on 13 tracked exchanges. By volume the largest are Binance, OKX and Bybit. Compare fees and features on the best perpetual exchanges.
Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
