Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
Berachain perpetual futures traded $15.81M in the last 24 hours across 10 tracked markets, with $13.85M in open interest. BingX is the most active venue with 44% of volume. OI-weighted funding is -0.0096% per 8 hours, so shorts are paying longs. Accounts are split 50.1% long to 49.9% short.
Berachain is an EVM-compatible layer 1 that grew out of the Bong Bears NFT community and runs on a consensus model called Proof of Liquidity. BERA is the gas token, while a separate non-transferable token, BGT, directs rewards to applications that provide liquidity. Perps give traders a leveraged way to bet on the chain's DeFi activity, or to short BERA without borrowing it.
Token unlocks for early investors and contributors are a major supply event, since a large share of BERA was allocated to insiders on a vesting schedule. Total value locked on Berachain, incentive changes under Proof of Liquidity and wider altcoin sentiment also move it. Binance and BingX carry most of the volume. Rising open interest before an unlock alongside negative funding suggests shorts or hedges building into the date.

The open-interest-weighted BERA funding rate is -0.0096% per 8 hours, or -10.50% annualised. Negative funding means shorts pay longs. Across exchanges it ranges from -0.0301% on Hyperliquid to +0.0050% on BingX. Compare all funding rates.
BERA perpetual open interest is $13.85M (91.02M BERA), up 1.12% in 24 hours. Binance holds the most at $4.50M. That is 25.94% of Berachain's market cap.
Berachain is a layer 1 blockchain compatible with Ethereum tools, designed around liquidity incentives. Its Proof of Liquidity system rewards users who provide liquidity to approved applications with BGT, which steers future emissions. BERA pays for transactions and is staked by validators to secure the network.
Berachain perps traded $15.81M in the last 24 hours, +1.41% on the day before. BingX leads with 44%, followed by Binance ($3.87M) and OKX ($1.41M).
Over the last 24 hours 50.1% of accounts are long and 49.9% short, a long/short ratio of 1.00. See the long/short ratio by exchange.
BERA is the tradable gas token and the one that perps track. BGT is a non-transferable governance token earned by providing liquidity, and it decides how block rewards are split between applications. BGT can be burned for BERA, which links the two.
Proof of Liquidity is Berachain's consensus and incentive system. Validators stake BERA to produce blocks, while BGT holders direct rewards toward chosen pools and applications. The design ties network security to liquidity in its DeFi ecosystem, which is why BERA traders watch total value locked closely.
$5.8K of BERA positions were liquidated in 24 hours, $5.8K longs and $0 shorts. Binance saw the most at $8.5K. See liquidations across the market.
Vesting releases add tokens held by investors and contributors to circulating supply, and markets often price in possible selling before each one. Funding can turn negative and open interest can climb in the days ahead. Outcomes vary, and price sometimes recovers quickly once the new supply is absorbed.
BERA perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of BERA and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any BERA.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When BERA perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.
BERA perps trade on 10 tracked exchanges. By volume the largest are BingX, Binance and OKX. Compare fees and features on the best perpetual exchanges.
Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
