Ether.fi turns deposited ETH into eETH, a liquid restaking token that earns staking rewards while the underlying ETH is restaked through EigenLayer. The project has since added a crypto spending card. ETHFI is its governance token, and perps on it let traders take a leveraged view on the restaking sector, short it as a hedge, or bet on ether.fi growing its share of staked ETH.
ETHFI tends to amplify moves in ETH, since the protocol's deposits and fees are tied to the ether price and staking demand. Restaking yields, EigenLayer developments, total value locked and token unlocks are the project-specific drivers. Binance carries the most volume, while Bybit, Hyperliquid and Gate hold large open interest for their size. When ETH rallies and ETHFI funding climbs faster than ETH funding, leveraged longs are crowding into the higher-beta trade.

Ether.fi is a non-custodial liquid restaking protocol on Ethereum. Users stake ETH and receive eETH or its wrapped form weETH, which keep earning staking and restaking rewards while staying usable in DeFi. The ETHFI token governs the protocol.

Restaking lets staked ETH help secure other services built on top of Ethereum, such as those using EigenLayer, in return for extra rewards. It adds yield but also adds risk, because restaked ETH can be penalised if those services' rules are broken. Ether.fi packages this into a single liquid token.
Ether.fi's deposits are counted in ETH, so a rising ether price lifts the dollar value of the protocol and usually its token, and a falling one does the reverse. ETHFI often moves further than ETH in both directions, which is why traders pair it against ETH perps.

No. ETHFI is the governance token of ether.fi and does not earn staking rewards by itself. The liquid restaking tokens are eETH and weETH, which represent staked ETH. ETHFI perps track the governance token, so they reflect sentiment toward the protocol instead of staking yield.
ETHFI perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of ETHFI and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any ETHFI.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When ETHFI perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
