Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
dYdX is a decentralised exchange for perpetual futures that runs on its own blockchain, the dYdX Chain, built with the Cosmos SDK. DYDX secures that chain through staking and governs the protocol, and stakers receive a share of trading fees. Traders use DYDX perps to bet on the fortunes of on-chain derivatives trading, or to hedge a staked position against falling prices.
Few tokens are tied so directly to perps activity. Trading volume and fees on the dYdX exchange feed staking rewards, so market share against rivals such as Hyperliquid is the key fundamental. Binance leads DYDX perp volume, with WhiteBIT, BingX and OKX behind it, and Hyperliquid also carries notable open interest. Governance votes on fees and token economics are recurring catalysts.

dYdX is a decentralised derivatives exchange where users trade perpetual futures from their own wallets. Since its v4 upgrade it runs on a standalone Cosmos SDK chain in which validators operate the order book and matching engine, with trades settled on chain. DYDX is the token that stakes, secures and governs that chain.

Validators and delegators who stake DYDX on the dYdX Chain receive a share of the protocol's trading fees, paid mainly in USDC. More trading on the exchange therefore means more income for stakers, which links the token directly to exchange activity.
Both are on-chain order book exchanges for perpetual futures running on their own chains. dYdX uses the Cosmos SDK and shares fees with stakers, while Hyperliquid runs a custom chain and has taken a large share of on-chain perp volume. Traders often compare the two exchanges' volumes when judging DYDX against HYPE.

Yes. DYDX launched as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and when the exchange moved to its own chain the token became the native asset of the dYdX Chain. Holders could bridge their Ethereum tokens to the new chain to stake and vote.
DYDX perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of DYDX and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any DYDX.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When DYDX perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
