Tellor is a decentralised oracle protocol where reporters stake TRB to submit off-chain data, such as prices, to smart contracts, and can be disputed and slashed for bad values. TRB is the staking and payment token. Its perps are known among traders for extreme moves, because a small circulating supply combined with heavy leveraged positioning has repeatedly produced sharp squeezes in both directions.
Price tends to be driven by positioning more than by news about the protocol. When funding becomes deeply negative after a rally, shorts pay heavily to hold their positions and a squeeze can follow. When it turns sharply positive, the opposite risk builds. Binance carries most TRB perp volume, with OKX, WhiteBIT and BingX behind it. Reading funding rates and open interest together is essential in this market.

Tellor is an oracle network that brings external data onto blockchains. Data reporters stake TRB to submit values, and anyone can dispute a submission, putting the reporter's stake at risk if it is wrong. Smart contracts use Tellor feeds for prices and other data.

TRB has a small circulating supply relative to the open interest it can attract, so leveraged positions can outweigh spot liquidity. This has led to violent short squeezes and sharp collapses, often with funding at extreme levels. Thin order books on secondary venues can magnify each move.
Deeply negative funding means shorts are paying longs to keep their positions open, a sign the market is crowded on the short side. If price rises instead of falling, those shorts face both losses and funding costs, which can force buying and trigger a squeeze.

Yes. Tellor Tributes is the full name of TRB, the token of the Tellor oracle protocol. Exchanges and data sites list it under either name, and the TRB ticker is used for both spot and perps markets.
TRB perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of TRB and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any TRB.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When TRB perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
