Kaspa perpetual futures traded $32.21M in the last 24 hours across 11 tracked markets, a 27% jump on the day before, with $55.32M in open interest. BingX dominates with 62% of volume. Kaspa is a proof-of-work layer 1 that uses a blockDAG in place of a single chain, so blocks can be created in parallel and confirmed quickly. It launched in 2021 without a premine or token sale, and KAS is mined with dedicated ASIC hardware. Perps give traders leveraged exposure to one of the larger proof-of-work coins outside Bitcoin, a way to short it, and a tool for miners to hedge future output.
Network upgrades that raise the block rate and the mining emission schedule, which trims rewards a little every month, shape the long-term supply picture. Day to day, KAS trades as a high-beta altcoin. Binance and Bybit lead trading, while MEXC, Gate and Bitget hold large positions relative to their volume. When positions pile up on smaller books, moves can snowball, so watch liquidations when price breaks out of a range.

The open-interest-weighted KAS funding rate is +0.0062% per 8 hours, or +6.79% annualised. Positive funding means longs pay shorts. Across exchanges it ranges from +0.0050% on BingX to +0.0240% on Kraken. Compare all funding rates.
KAS perpetual open interest is $55.32M (1.53B KAS), down 1.45% in 24 hours. MEXC holds the most at $18.17M. That is 5.53% of Kaspa's market cap.
Kaspa is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency built on the GHOSTDAG protocol, a blockDAG design that lets multiple blocks be produced at once and ordered afterwards. This allows fast block times without discarding parallel blocks as orphans. KAS is the native coin, mined with the kHeavyHash algorithm.
Kaspa perps traded $32.21M in the last 24 hours, +26.69% on the day before. BingX leads with 62%, followed by Binance ($2.91M) and MEXC ($2.32M).
Over the last 24 hours 28.8% of accounts are long and 71.2% short, a long/short ratio of 0.40. See the long/short ratio by exchange.
New KAS is issued to miners as block rewards, and the reward falls slightly each month so that it halves roughly once a year. Supply is capped, so issuance slows over time and new coins from miners make up a shrinking share of the market.
Miners earn KAS continuously but pay costs such as electricity in fiat, so some short perps to lock in a price for future output. This hedging can add steady short interest, and funding can lean negative even when spot demand is healthy.
$1.7K of KAS positions were liquidated in 24 hours, $1.7K longs and $0 shorts. Bybit saw the most at $5.2K. See liquidations across the market.
Kaspa produces several blocks every second, far faster than most proof-of-work chains, thanks to its blockDAG design. Upgrades have raised the block rate over time, and supporters see this as evidence that proof-of-work can scale. Ordinary payments confirm within seconds.
KAS perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of KAS and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any KAS.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When KAS perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.
KAS perps trade on 10 tracked exchanges. By volume the largest are BingX, Binance and MEXC. Compare fees and features on the best perpetual exchanges.
Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
