Ethereum Name Service perpetual futures market

Ethereum Name Service maps readable names such as alice.eth to wallet addresses, content hashes and other records, so users can send funds to a name instead of a long hex string. ENS is the governance token of the DAO that runs the protocol and its treasury. Perps let traders take a leveraged view on Ethereum's naming layer or short it, without registering names or holding the token.

Liquidity in ENS perps is thinner than in larger Ethereum tokens, with Binance carrying the largest share of volume and MEXC and Bybit holding notable open interest. Registration demand, integrations with wallets and apps, DAO treasury decisions and moves in ETH shape the price. Low volume means a single large order can shift funding and trigger liquidations, so open interest is best read against volume.

What is Ethereum Name Service (ENS)?

ENS is a naming system on Ethereum that turns names ending in .eth into addresses and other records. Users register names for a yearly fee paid in ETH, and the fees go to the ENS DAO treasury. The ENS token gives holders votes on how the protocol and treasury are run.

        How does ENS earn revenue?

Name registrations and renewals generate fees, with shorter names costing more per year. That income builds the DAO treasury, which funds development and grants. The ENS token does not receive those fees directly, so its price reflects governance value and sentiment around the protocol's growth.

        Was the ENS token airdropped?

Yes. The ENS token launched in late 2021 with an airdrop to people who had registered .eth names, weighted by how long they had held them. Other parts of the supply went to the DAO treasury and contributors. It remains one of the best-known examples of rewarding early users.

How much ENS was liquidated in the last 24 hours?

        Why are ENS perps volatile?

ENS has less perp liquidity than major tokens, so funding and price can move quickly on modest order sizes. News about naming integrations, DAO votes or Ethereum sentiment can trigger fast repricing. The liquidations page shows whether forced closes are adding to a sharp move.

        What are ENS perpetual futures?

ENS perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of ENS and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any ENS.

        How does ENS funding work?

Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When ENS perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Should I long or short ENS?

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
