Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
Apps rarely read raw blockchain data directly. The Graph organises it into subgraphs that apps query instead of running their own data pipelines. Indexers run the infrastructure and stake GRT, delegators back them with their own tokens, and curators signal which subgraphs are worth indexing. GRT perps let traders take leveraged positions on this data layer or hedge staked and delegated tokens that take weeks to withdraw.
GRT perps are a modest market, with Binance carrying the most volume and BingX, WhiteBIT and Bybit making up much of the rest. A sizeable share of GRT is staked or delegated, so liquid supply is lower than total supply suggests. Query fee growth, protocol upgrades and sentiment toward infrastructure tokens set the longer trend. In the short term, thin books mean funding and liquidations can react sharply to modest order sizes.

The Graph is a decentralised protocol for indexing and querying blockchain data. Developers define subgraphs that describe which data to collect, and a network of indexers serves those queries to apps. GRT is used for staking, delegation, curation and paying query fees.

Indexers run nodes that process subgraphs and answer queries, and they stake GRT as collateral for honest work. Delegators assign their GRT to indexers to earn a share of rewards without running hardware. Delegated tokens take several weeks to withdraw, so some holders hedge with perps instead.
Reading historical data straight from a blockchain is slow and awkward, so apps use subgraphs to fetch balances, trades and events through simple queries. This saves teams from building and maintaining their own indexing servers. Many DeFi front ends rely on it, which ties GRT demand to on-chain app activity.

GRT perps trade on many exchanges, but daily volume is modest next to large caps and most of it sits on a few venues led by Binance. Lower liquidity means wider spreads and faster liquidation cascades in volatile sessions. The open interest page shows how leverage is spread across exchanges.
GRT perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of GRT and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any GRT.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When GRT perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
