Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
ORDI was the first token issued under the BRC-20 standard, which uses Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions to create fungible tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain. It has no protocol revenue or utility beyond being the flagship of that experiment. Traders use ORDI perps as a leveraged bet on Bitcoin's token and inscription activity, and to short the theme when enthusiasm fades, which is hard to do with BRC-20 spot alone.
Activity on Bitcoin itself drives this market, including inscription volumes, fee spikes and newer standards such as Runes that compete for attention. Binance and OKX carry most of the volume, and USDC-margined pairs on Binance and BingX trade alongside the USDT contracts. ORDI moves with high beta to BTC, so a falling bitcoin price can trigger long liquidations here faster than in the larger market.

ORDI is a BRC-20 token on Bitcoin, created in 2023 as the first token deployed with that standard. Its supply of 21 million was minted by users through inscriptions rather than sold by a team. It has no wider function, so its price reflects interest in Bitcoin-native tokens.

Ordinals is a protocol created by Casey Rodarmor that numbers individual satoshis and lets users inscribe data such as images or text onto them. It launched in early 2023 and made NFT-style assets possible on Bitcoin. BRC-20 tokens are built on top of Ordinals inscriptions.
ORDI uses BRC-20, which stores token actions as inscription data and relies on off-chain indexers to track balances. Runes is a later standard, also from Casey Rodarmor, that records balances in Bitcoin transaction outputs and is more efficient. The two compete for attention among Bitcoin token traders.

ORDI tends to rise and fall with bitcoin but with larger swings, since it is a small, speculative asset tied to Bitcoin activity. Inscription demand and network fees can push it away from BTC for a while. Comparing it with bitcoin perps shows how much of a move is market-wide.
ORDI perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of ORDI and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any ORDI.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When ORDI perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
