FET is the token of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, formed in 2024 when Fetch.ai, SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol agreed to combine their tokens. Fetch.ai builds tools for autonomous AI agents, and FET pays for services across that network. Traders use FET perps as a liquid way to trade the crypto AI theme with leverage, or to short it when interest in the sector cools.
Price action often tracks wider AI headlines, including results from large tech companies and new model releases, so funding can heat up quickly when the theme is in favour. The merger also folded converted AGIX and OCEAN supply into FET, and alliance news can move the market. Binance holds the largest share of volume, with MEXC, Gate and Bitget behind it. Compare with Bittensor perps to separate token news from sector moves.

As part of the 2024 merger, AGIX and OCEAN holders could convert their tokens into FET at fixed ratios. FET kept its ticker and became the main tradable token of the alliance. The converted tokens added to FET's circulating supply.
FET is one of the best-known crypto tokens tied to artificial intelligence, so traders use it as a proxy for the theme. News about AI chips, big tech earnings or model launches can lift or sink the sector in a day, and leveraged positioning in FET perps tends to amplify those moves.

Fetch.ai develops software for autonomous AI agents that can find each other, negotiate and complete tasks on behalf of users or businesses. FET is used to pay for network services and to stake with validators that secure the Fetch.ai chain.
FET perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of FET and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any FET.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When FET perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
