Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
Solayer started as a restaking protocol on Solana, letting users stake SOL and liquid staking tokens to help secure other services in return for extra rewards. The project has since expanded into building its own high-performance network based on the Solana Virtual Machine, with LAYER as its token. Perps offer leveraged exposure to the Solana infrastructure theme, or a way to short a small, newer token.
Thin liquidity defines the LAYER perps market. Binance and BingX carry most of the volume, and order books on other venues are shallow, so funding and price can gap after large trades. Unlocks for investors and the team are a recurring supply risk for a token of this age. Solana sentiment matters too, so it helps to watch SOL perps alongside it.

Solayer is a Solana project that began with restaking, where staked SOL is reused to secure additional services in exchange for extra yield. It has since grown into a wider infrastructure effort around a hardware-accelerated version of the Solana Virtual Machine. LAYER is the project's native token.

Restaking lets holders put staked SOL, or liquid staking tokens that represent it, to further use securing other applications. In return they earn extra rewards on top of normal staking yield. The trade-off is added risk, since problems in those services can affect restaked funds.
LAYER perps are volatile because the market is small and liquidity sits on a handful of exchanges. Modest orders can move price, which can trigger liquidations that extend the move. Supply unlocks and Solana sentiment add further swings, so funding can change quickly.

Often, because Solayer's business depends on Solana staking and activity. A strong SOL market tends to support Solana infrastructure tokens like LAYER, and SOL sell-offs usually hit them harder. Project news and unlock dates can still cause LAYER to move on its own.
LAYER perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of LAYER and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any LAYER.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When LAYER perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
