Daily close and perpetual volume across tracked exchanges
More ETH is staked through Lido than through any other liquid staking protocol. Users deposit ETH, receive stETH that accrues staking rewards, and Lido keeps a share of those rewards as a fee split between node operators and the DAO. LDO is the governance token. Perps on LDO let traders bet on Lido's share of staked ETH with leverage, or short it as a hedge against stETH or wider ETH exposure.
Ether's price, demand for staking and Lido's market share are the main drivers. Competition from restaking protocols and other staking providers, governance votes on how LDO captures value, and regulatory views on staking all feed in. Binance leads on volume, with Bybit and OKX next, and Hyperliquid and Gate hold sizeable open interest. A gap between LDO funding and ETH funding shows whether traders favour the token over ether itself.

Lido DAO is the organisation that governs the Lido liquid staking protocol, and LDO holders vote on its settings, treasury and node operator set. The protocol lets users stake ETH without running a validator and receive stETH, which can be used across DeFi while earning rewards.

stETH is the liquid token Lido issues when a user stakes ETH. Its balance grows as staking rewards accrue, and it can be traded, lent or used as collateral in DeFi. It usually trades close to ETH, and withdrawals let holders redeem it for ETH through the protocol.
No. LDO is a governance token, and holding it does not earn ETH staking rewards. Those rewards go to stETH holders, minus the protocol fee. LDO perps therefore track sentiment toward Lido as a business and its governance, rather than staking yield.

Lido's fee income depends on how much ETH is staked and what that ETH is worth in dollars, so LDO tends to exaggerate ether's moves. Strong ETH rallies usually lift it, and sell-offs often hit it harder. Comparing it with ETH perps helps separate token-specific moves from the wider market.
LDO perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that track the price of LDO and never expire. Instead of settling on a date, they use a funding rate to stay close to the spot price. You can go long or short with leverage without holding any LDO.
Funding is a payment between longs and shorts. When LDO perps trade above the index price, funding is positive and longs pay shorts. When they trade below it, shorts pay longs. Most exchanges settle every 8 hours and some, including Hyperliquid, settle every hour.

Coinperps does not give trading advice. Funding, open interest, the long/short ratio and liquidations show how other traders are positioned, but crowded positioning can last longer than expected. Size positions so a liquidation would not hurt you.
